Your mindset is everything.

How many times have you heard the phrase of some sort… “skipping your morning latte will make you rich”. If you could see me, I’m rolling my eyes. Saving $5.00 a day is not going to make a difference in your life. Enjoy your coffee as you please.

I don’t claim to have all the answers… but I am going to keep it real. I work hard, I take risks and of course I make mistakes. There is a lot to unpack here and this is a topic I am extremely passionate about, but let’s just start with a few general points.

  1. Your relationship with money. I have no issue talking about money. I’ve always been this way. Whether I was making minimum wage, working three jobs, or running my businesses I’ve always been really open about it. Money should not be taboo. I’ve witnessed. had friends who are struggling financially, once they open up about it and admit their struggle they start to do better. Maybe it’s a form of subconscious liberation. If you are constantly living in scarcity mindset you will likely stay small. There is always more money to be made. “A quitter never wins-and-a winner never quits.”

  2. Believing you are worthy. To be successful, you have to first believe you are worthy of achieving anything you set your mind to. Letting go of the past, dismantling self-limiting beliefs, and acting on your dreams. I’m sure it is easier for some than others, but how bad do you want it? If something is holding you back — it’s worth the investment in therapy, coaching or any other form of help to set yourself free. My good friend Jess Magnan is a mindset coach. If you’re struggling with self-worth, purpose, or are unfulfilled reach out for a free consultation (note: Jess is on a leave of absence, so please be patient with a response). “Set your mind on a definite goal and observe how quickly the world stands aside to let you pass.”

  3. Never stop learning. I make time to learn every day, whether it’s reading a book, article, or listening to a podcast. You are in control of what content you are digesting. Choose wisely. That’s not to say you can’t read for pleasure, but you have a choice. For as long as I can remember I’ve been reading business books; biographies, memoirs, leadership, interviews, strategy… you get the idea. So, I like to think of myself as learning daily from the most successful people in the world. I have access to their information, their wealth of knowledge, what makes them tick, how they’ve made not only their money but a lasting legacy. If you’re looking for book recommendations let me know. “The way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge.”
